Santa Barbara High’s girls volleyball team got in a lot of work against some quality teams at the Dave Mohs Tournament at Edison High in Huntington Beach over the weekend.
The Dons went 1-2 on the second day of the tournament. They lost their final pool play match against Santa Margarita (25-20, 25-18) and came back to win their first match in the Silver Bracket, beating Centennial of Bakersfield (25-22, 17-25, 15-10). They fell to Martin Luther King of Riverside, 28-26, 25-15 and finished third in the bracket.
Jessyca paced the Dons attack with 51 kills over two days. Laura Weger added 38 kills. Coach John Gannon singled out the setting of Paige Mascari and the defense and passing of Dane Miller.
The Dons are back in action on Tuesday against Westlake.
