Willow Brown and Maddy Niessen stood out for Providence in the Patriots’ 25-23, 25-21, 25-20 non-league victory over Orcutt Academy on Tuesday.
The senior outside hitter played her best match according to Patriots coach Laura Newton.
“Willow has been working very hard in practice and played in the outside hitter position all the way around for the first time this season,” Newton said. “Today, she was one of our most consistent serve receive passers, had a number of great digs and scrappy plays, and did not have a single hitting error the entire night. Her focus and diligence in doing her job well tonight was a huge reason for the victory.”
Maddy Niessen tallied a triple-double with a team-high 13 kills and 12 assists, 11 digs. Ozie LeSage added six kills and 15 digs while Cody Niessen recorded 16 assists and five aces.
Providence (2-1) plays at Trinity Classical on Friday.
