San Marcos’ doubles team were undefeated on Friday as the Royals won three matches in Division 5 at the California Tennis Classic in Fresno.
The Royals defeated Casa Grande 5-1, Centennial 4-2, and Central 4-2 while also battling near 100-degree heat.
Each of San Marcos’ doubles units swept three matches and only lost two sets in the process. Kinsley Shinn/Francesca Diamond and Olivia Sturman/Gaby Goldberg won six sets each without a loss. Summer Bosse and Carley McDaniel won two 10-point tiebreakers to clinch their three wins.
In singles, Julia Frohling won all her six sets on the day.
Tournament play continues on Saturday.
