After two easy wins to start the season, the two-time defending Division 5 champions met their match and lost 12-6 to Dos Pueblos on Tuesday in a non-league match.
The Chargers swept all nine doubles sets to control the outcome.
Carpinteria’s Kelsie Bryant swept her three sets without a serious challenge to improve to 9-0 in individual sets this season. Madison Cleek lost her first set but rebounded with two victories.
DP’s doubles team were led by the duos of Chloe Shott/Catherine Wang and the sister combo of Serina and Siena Applebaum. Both teams claimed three sets by at least a single break.
KC Egger earned two points in singles with set wins of 6-4, 6-0, and Hannah Kleidermacher won another 6-0.
Dos Pueblos plays at Righetti on Friday.
