San Marcos freshman Mallory Sestak was three strokes better than the next golfer on Tuesday in San Marcos’ 242-341 Channel-League victory over Santa Barbara.
Sestak has led the Royals (8-1) in scoring several times this season and came through with a low round of 45 on an abnormally hot day at Montecito Country Club.
“The girls all dealt with the new course and hot conditions as well as can be expected,” said San Marcos head coach Sarah Ashton. “They hit the ball well off the tee and made good adjustments on the course as needed.”
Kelsey Gellert, Lauren Pitchford and Remi Ho were next with matching 48s. Alex Pitchford’s 53 filled out San Marcos’ scorecard.
Jade Allmon led Santa Barbara with a 62. Also scoring for the Dons were Stella Benenati (69), Riley Bigger (70), Cameron Sneddon (70) and Leah Makler (70).
