MacKenzie McBride and Remi Ho led five San Marcos golfers that matched a school record with a combined team score of 211 on Thursday.
McBride and Ho carded 40s. Very close behind were Kelsey Gellert (41), Kellen Peddicord (45) and Alex Pitchford (45).
The Royals accomplished the feat at Soule Park in Ojai, the same course where the Channel League Championships are played every year.
In the process, San Marcos defeated Nordhoff (298) and Channel Islands (318). The Royals’ score will also count towards qualifying for CIF.
“Today’s scores show the ability and depth of a team who is playing really well together as a group. The girls played really smart shots today and their decisions paid off,” said Royals head coach Sarah Ashton.
San Marcos, which plays at Sandpiper on Friday, improves its record to 6-1 on the season.
