Blake Parrish scored five goals, and Dos Pueblos gave CIF Division 1 powerhouse Mater Dei a battle before falling 20-10 in a non-league boys water polo match on Wednesday at the Elings Aquatic Center.
The Chargers trailed by just three goals, 12-7, entering the fourth period.
Dos Pueblos and Mater Dei are both entered in this weekend’s 24-team Santa Barbara Invitational. DP opens the tournament with a play-in game against Claremont at 4 p.m. Thursday. Mater Dei, which is coached by former DP star and U.S. Olympian Chris Segesman, begins play on Friday.
