Local Santa Barbara photographer Steve Kennedy captured Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett participating in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge last week on the final day of the Cowboys’ training camp in Oxnard, California.
His choice of water vessels did not go unnoticed by pessimistic Cowboys fans. Many on Twitter chided Garrett for taking the one opportunity he’s ever had to dump a gatorade bucket over his head, a football tradition typically reserved for winning championships.

Passing the baton, Garrett challenged Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly and Washington head coach Jay Gruden.
“It’s fun to be a part of it,” Garrett told the media. “It’s not real fun right now. It’s pretty cold.”
The Cowboys first held training camp in Oxnard in 2004. Owner Jerry Jones indicated at the end of camp that the Cowboys plan on returning in 2015.
