AJ Balta - Rally Cap

AJ Balta constructed a creative rally cap in the Forester dugout on Sunday. It worked as Santa Barbara came from behind to win 5-3.

Santa Barbara, with a 30-7 in Goleta this summer, complete the regular season schedule tonight in Thousand Oaks before heading off to Wichita, Kansas for the NBC World Series.

Studdard gave the home crowd something to remember with his go-ahead homer in the bottom of the eighth. Hitting fifth in the lineup, the Texas State infielder totaled three hits on the day.

His season will also be one to remember: Studdard leads the California Collegiate League in RBIs with 34, his five home runs are second, and his .365 average is eighth.

BOX SCORE

Conejo’s Andrew Jones shut out the Foresters in his six innings of work.

Conejo jumped out to a 3-0 lead on Santa Barbara starter Dylan Bein in the first two innings. Bein, a hard-throwing righty, settled down from there and struck out the side in the third inning. He finished with eight Ks in six innings.

John Williamson pitched two scoreless innings of relief to earn the victory, and Matt Withrow pitched the ninth for a save.

Santa Barbara clinched the California Collegiate League’s Central Division earlier in the week. Conejo is in third place and San Luis Obispo in second.
