Top of the order strikes again for Foresters in 6-3 win

The hot hitting from the top of the batting order continued for the Santa Barbara Foresters on Friday night as Dillon Dobson, Jaylin Davis and Grant Davis each had two hits in a 6-3 win over the Neptune Beach Pearl at Caesar Uyesaka Stadium.

It was the sixth straight win for the Foresters and fourth in a row in the California Collegiate League.

Jaylin Davis and Grant Davis (no relation) got the Foresters going in the first inning with back-to-back singles. Dobson hit a screamer to the Pearl shortstop, who botched the play, allowing Jayiin Davis to score. Foresters newcomer David Greer was hit by a pitch to load the bases, and Dave Graybill followed with a sacrifice fly to score Grant Davis for a 2-0 lead

Ahead 2-1 n the third, the Foresters added two more runs Granger Studdard tripled to score Dobson and Graybill singled to bring home Studdard.

Jaylin Davis had a RBI hit and Graybill drove in his third run of the game in the sixth inning

Nick Diamond pitched 6.2 innings to earn his first win. Jeremy Montalbano picked up the save.

Neptune Beach got two of its runs on a two-run homer by Zach McCoy in the fifth inning.
