Jaylin Davis and Dillon Dobson hit back-to-back home runs in the first inning to support the solid pitching of Andrew Lantrip in a 4-1 Foresters victory over the San Luis Obispo Blues on Tuesday at Caesar Uyesaka Stadium.
Jaylin Davis hit a monster two-run blast over the right-center field fence, driving in Grant Davis who reached base on a single. Dobson followed with a solo shot to right center for a 3-0 lead in the first inning.
Lantrip shut down the Blues in his debut with the Foresters. The sophomore from Houston pitched six shutout innings, allowing four hits, while striking out seven.
The Blues scored a run in the seventh before Jaylin Davis and Dobson struck again in the eighth. Davis singled to left and came home on a double to deep center by Dobson.
The Foresters improve to 12-3 overall and 10-3 in the California Collegiate League.
