Bret Boswell hit a go-ahead bases-loaded double in the sixth inning, sparking the Foresters to an 8-3 win over the Conejo Oaks in a California Collegiate League game at Caesar Uyesaka Stadium on Tuesday.
The win completed a two-game sweep over the Oaks. Earlier, the Foresters took a 10-9 decision of a game that was suspended after nine innings due to darkness last week. A.J. Balta tripled in the 10th and, after two walks, Dillon Dobson lined a single past a five-man infield for the game-winning run.
The Foresters were down 3-0 before starting their comeback in the fifth inning. Singles by A.J. Kennedy, Grant Davis and Colt Atwood produced one run. Then Grant Davis and Atwood executed a double steal, with Davis coming home for the second run.
Boswell’s double in the sixth scored Jeremy Montalbano and Granger Studdard to put Santa Barbara in the lead. Kennedy followed with a single to score Boswell for a 5-3 advantage.
Studdard blasted a three-run homer in the seventh to put the game out of reach.
Starter Andrew Lantrip picked up his third win of the summer season. He struck out five and allowed one earned run in six innings.
