Brandon Evans of SBCC had four hits and Jordan Brower singled home the winning run in the eighth inning, lifting the Santa Paula Halos to a 5-4 win over the Foresters in a California Collegiate League game on Wednesday at Caesar Uyesaka Stadium.
It was the second loss of the season for the Foresters (8-2, 6-2), who battled back from a 4-2 deficit and tied the score in the sixth inning.
AJ Kennedy singled in Granger Studdard to make 4-3 and Studdard drove in David Greer with a sacrifice fly to tie the score, 4-4.
Santa Paula scored the winning run with two outs. Pinch hitter Austin Rodriguez drew a walk and Evans singled. Rodriguez followed with a single to score Rodriguez.
The Foresters were held to six hits and committed three errors. Jaylin Davis continued his hot hitting with a RBI triple that tied the score at 1-1. Bret Boswell gave Santa Barbara a 2-1 lead, driving in Davis with a double.
The Halos capitalized on some sloppy Forester defense and scored three runs.
