Jon Duplantier turned in a dominating performance on the mound, leading the Santa Barbara Foresters to an 8-1 win over the Conejo Oaks in a California Collegiate League game on Thursday in Thousand Oaks.
Duplantier, a sophomore at Rice University, struck out nine and allowed one run and two hits in six innings. At one point, he retired 14 batters in a row.
Santa Barbara’s offense was paced by Jeremy Montalbano and Jaylin Davis. They combined for seven hits, with Montalbano going 4-for-4 and Davis 3-4 with a home run.
The Foresters improve to 9-2 and 7-2 in the CCL.
