The Foresters had their eight-game winning streak snapped by the San Luis Obispo Blues on Thursday night, dropping a 4-3 California Collegiate League decision on the road.
The Blues capitalized on a couple of throwing errors in the eighth inning and scored two runs for the victory. It was Santa Barbara’s first loss to the Blues in four meetings.
Santa Barbara struck quickly in the game, as Jeremy Montalbano lined a two-run double with two outs in the first inning.
The Foresters scored another two-out run in the seventh on a single by Ford Stainback, giving them a 3-1 lead.
In his Forester debut, starting pitcher Dylan Bein struck out seven and allowed one run in four innings of work.
The Foresters are 19-4 overall and 17-4 in the CCL.
