Dos Pueblos seniors Stamatia Scarvelis and Addi Zerrenner qualified for the CIF State Track and Field Championships at Friday’s Southern Section Masters Meet at Cerritos College.
The UCLA-bound Scarvelis won both the shot put and discus, while Zerrenner, an Arizona signee, finished third in the 3200.
The State Meet is next Friday and Saturday at Buchanan High in Clovis.
Scarvelis is seeking her third straight state title in the shot put. She threw the shot 52-9.50 to win the Masters Meet. Her winning mark in the discus was 154-09.
Zerrenner ran 10:15.50 on Friday, improving on her CIF Division Finals time of 10:19.53. Bethan Knights of Northwood won the race in 9:54.89 and Destiny Collins of Great Oak was second in 10:14.33.
