Two San Marcos relay teams set school records at the Southern Section’s CIF Finals on Saturday in Riverside.
Dasha Depew, Grace Pizzinat, Olivia Smith and Paige Hauschild made up the 200-yard freestyle team that placed
10th overall with the time of 1:38.83. The 400 yard freestyle team, placing 11th overall with a time of 3:34.49, consisted of Depew, Smith, Megan Bergthold and Hauschild.
Hauschild and Smith qualified for individual events at the Division 1 championships.
Smith, a sophomore, competed in the 200 and 500 free. She placed 15th in the 200 (1:52.51) and 16th in the 500 (5:00.91). Hauschild, a freshman, posted a time of 53.01 in the 100 free.
