San Marcos suffered a 14-5 Channel League defeat to Ventura on Tuesday as the Cougars scored 11 runs in the first three innings.
The Royals’ bright spots included Hailee Rios’ 2-for-2 day that included a home run and three RBI. Rios’ home run scored Veronica Villarreal and Cara Christian. Sienna Berlinger was 2-for-3 with a double and RBI.
Ventura improves to 6-3 in the league standings while San Marcos falls to 1-8.
