Kit Larson completed a rare trifecta on Thursday when he was named to the All-Southern California and All-American baseball teams by the California Commuity College Baseball Coaches Association.
Earlier this year, Larson made the All-State Academic baseball squad with a 3.76 GPA.
The 6-4 freshman right-hander from Mill Valley, Calif., went 4-2 with six saves and a 0.94 ERA for the Vaqueros (27-15), who enjoyed their best postseason run ever, advancing to the Southern Cal Sectionals and finishing fifth in the state.
He appeared in 21 games, striking out 41 in 38.1 innings with just two walks.
Larson was a first-team All-Western State Conference North choice, going 3-1 with three saves and a conference-best 0.82 ERA. In three playoff appearances, he had a 0.00 ERA in six innings with one save and six strikeouts.
Larson is the seventh Vaquero to be named All-American since 2007. The others were David Harris, Bryce Uhrig and John DeAlba (2007), Tommy White (2010), Chris Joyce (2011) and Steven Reveles (2013), who’s now playing shortstop for Nebraska.
