Molina, Brennan, Williams, Frausto win local MLB Pitch, Hit, Run competition

Josh Brennan was the all-around champion in the 9/10 age group.

As part of closing-day ceremonies on Saturday, Dos Pueblos Little League players competed in Major League Baseball’s official Pitch, Hit and Run competition for youth players aged 7 to 14.

Jacob Molina, Josh Brennan, Jared Williams and JJ Frausto were the overall champions in their respective age divisions and will advance to the next round, along with Jake Hammel, Jack Parrish, Anthony Gutierrez, Mateo Calene, Easton Rose, Tomas Gil and Santiago Perez, who won individual disciplines.

A sectional round in Thousand Oaks on June 8 is the next step, with the winners of that advancing to the Team Championship round that will occurr in a major league baseball stadium.

The final round will take place at the 2014 MLB All-Star Game in July at Target Field, home of the Minnesota Twins. National finalists will compete on the field  prior to shagging fly balls during the Home Run Derby and attending the All-Star Game the next day.

PHR is the official skills competition of Major League Baseball and can be hosted by any organization, league, civic group or set of volunteers in the community.
