California Beach Volleyball Association doubles tournaments begin Saturday at East Beach.
The beach volleyball tournament season at East Beach kicks off on Saturday (May 31) with California Beach Volleyball Association Men’s B and Women’s AA division events.
There are six CBVA men’s and women’s tournaments on the schedule, as well as five youth doubles tournaments. The youth events (for ages 12-under to 18) run on consecutive Tuesdays, starting on July 15.
The marquee events for the summer are the Bud Light Men’s and Women’s Opens, held in front of the Cabrillo Bath House during the Semana Nautica Summer Sports Festival, July 5 and 6. The tournaments draw many of the best beach volleyball players in the community as well as professional players from throughout the country. They’ll be playing for cash awards.
