Dos Pueblos’ Michael Nam and San Marcos’ Niels Andersen grabbed the lead at the Channel League’s Individual Golf Championship on Monday at Soule Park Golf Course in Ojai.
Each will start the second and final round on Tuesday with matching 72s. Ventura’s Cord Morosin and Dos Pueblos’ Grant Amerson are close behind with 73s. In total, seventeen players made the cut from the original field of 30.
Morosin, Amerson and Andersen were all top-10 finishers last season.
The top eight golfers from the league tournament will qualify for the CIF Regional.
Brandon Crane produced Santa Barbara High’s best round. Crane’s 74 puts him in fifth and only two strokes off the lead.
