BTen: Semifinalists decided in Channel League Tournament

The tops seeds made it through the opening two rounds of the Channel League’s Individual Tennis Tournament on Monday to set up Tuesday’s semifinal matchups.

Top-seeded Kento Perera, a San Marcos freshman who has yet to lose a set against a Channel League opponent, will face Santa Barbara High’s Jordan Rodnick. In the other semifinal, it will be Dos Pueblos’ Patrick Corpuz, the second seed, against third-seeded Morgan Hale of Santa Barbara High.

Both semifinals will take place at the Tennis Club of Santa Barbara on Tuesday at 3 p.m. The Final is scheduled for Thursday afternoon.

None of the four players dropped a set on Monday.

Joshua Wang, Miles Baldwin, Owen Lincoln and Harry deBoer won their first-round matches before falling in the second round.

The Channel League doubles tournament begins on Wednesday at Dos Pueblos.
