San Marcos volleyball star Shane Hauschild said it best about Tuesday’s epic match between the Royals and Santa Barbara: “It was a back-and-forth battle, and that’s the kind of volleyball everybody wants to watch.”
The crowd was definitely into it as the crosstown rivals slugged it out through four thrilling sets. San Marcos pulled it out in the fourth, winning 32-30, to dethrone the Dons as Channel League champions. Santa Barbara had won the title nine straight years.
