Carpinteria won its first Tri-Valley League dual meet on Wednesday in hot and windy Fillmore. The Warrior boys triumphed 71-65 and the girls won 91-39.
Joel Montes set a personal best of 23.24 in winning the 200 meters and also won the 100. Ian Craddock captured the 100 and 300 hurdles races. Both Montes and Craddock ran on the winning 4×100 relay team.
Gaby Fantone won in her debut in the long jump with a clearance of 4-8. She took top honors in the 300 hurdles. Gabi Montes De Oca doubled in the long jump and triple jump.
