Sophia Soriano won two individual events and was part of two winning relays, leading Cate’s girls swim team to a 112-47 victory over Carpinteria on Wednesday.
In the boys meet, Cate’s Zach Allen won two events and swam the anchor leg on the winning 400 freestyle relay as the Rams took a 91-78 victory over the Warriors.
Allen captured the 200 free and 100 butterfly. Sam Kim led a Cate sweep in the 200 IM, Guhan Iyer won the 100 breaststroke and the Rams were first in the 200 free relay (Alex Brown, Guhan Iyer, Will Hogue, Julien Maes). The 400 free relay consisted of Hogue, Brown, Kim and Allen.
For the Carpinteria boys, Thomas Fly, Sal Briceno, Chris Fedderson and Malek Mehai won the 200 medley relay in 1:49.60. Individually, Mehai won the 100 free (24.29), Briceno took the 100 free (55.43) and Fly claimed the 100 back (1:00.96).
Allison Wagner was Carpinteria’s lone winner in the girls meet, winning the 200 free in 2:10.21.
Cate won nine events: 200 Medley Relay (Halie Straathof, Sophia Soriano, Anna Lueck, Ally Satterfield), 200 IM ( Soriano), 50 free (Ally Satterfield), 100 free (Anna Satterfield), 500 free (Caroline Montgomery), 200 free relay (Anna Lueck, Anna Satterfield, Ally Satterfield, Montgomery), 100 back (Straathof), 100 breast (Soriano) and 400 free relay (Ally Satterfield, Anna Satterfield, Soriano, Montgomery).
