Spencer Kemp was the lone winner for the San Marcos boys swim team in a 96-84 loss to Buena in a Channel League meet.
Kemp won the 100 breaststroke in 1:07.81.
“We were able to keep the meet close until the last event due to our depth,” said San Marcos coach Jeff Ashton.
Patrick Rowley got two second-place finishes in the 100 back and 200 IM.
