Dos Pueblos swimmers posted some fast times in a dual meet sweep over visiting Ventura on Thursday. The Charger boys and girls won by the identical scores of 103-80.
The DP boys 200 medley relay team of Walker Bell, Blake Parish, Alex Valente and John Stivers clocked a CIF automatic qualifying time of 1:37.36 in winning the race.
The Chargers girls medley relay quartet of Courtney Nuttall, Maelyn Adornetto, Nicole Berari and Cassandra Barkhorn turned in a CIF consideration time of 1:55.23.
Dos Pueblos also swept the 200 and 400 free relays.
In the boys competition, Walker Bell and Alex Valente were double winners. Valente posted a CIF automatic time in the 100 butterfly with a 51.38 and he won the 100 back in 53.32. Bell won the 200 IM in a CIF automatic time of 1:53.45 and took the 500 free in 4:44.87.
Federico Sarboraria captured the sprints, winning the 50 free in 21.93 and 100 free in 48.66.
Blake Parish recorded a CIF automatic time in the 100 breaststroke at 59.84.
Shannon Cleary posted a pair of close wins in the girls 50 and 100 freestyle races. The Stanford-bound Cleary won the 50 in 24.80, out-touching the Ventura swimmer by 3/10ths of a second. The 100 was even closer. Cleary won by 6/100s, winning in a CIF consideration time of 53.05.
In other DP highlights, Nuttall finished runner-up in the 200 fly and 100 backstroke and freshman Barkhorn took second in the 500 free (5:10.11) and third in the 200 IM (2:13.60).
