Sophia Soriano won two individual events and was on two winning relay teams, leading Cate’s girls swim team to 97-61 win over Villanova.
Zach Allen and Sam Kim each won two events and swam on two winning relay teams for the Cate boys in a 95-72 victory. It was their first win of the season. The girls are 3-0.
Cate swimmers achieved a combination of six new CIF consideration qualifying times, adding onto the 12 CIF times from last week’s meet against Oaks Christian.
Allen won the 200 free and 100 butterfly, while Kim took the 100 free and 200 IM. They were on the 200 free relay squad with Guhan Iyer and Will Hogue, and joined Hogue and Alex Brown on the 400 free quartet.
Soriano won the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke. She was part of the 200 medley relay with Mira Staathof, Anna Lueck and Ally Satterfield. The winning 400 free relay team consisted of Soriano, Ally Satterfield, Anna Satterfield and Lydia Stevens.
Ally Satterfield led a Cate sweep in the 50 free and Lydia Stevens took the 100 free in a 1-2-3 sweep by the Rams.
