Lani Evans struck out 10 batters and hit a home run, leading Dos Pueblos to a 9-4 softball win over Ventura on Friday.
The CIF Division 4 top-ranked Chargers improve to 11-1 and 4-0 in Channel League.
Evans scored the first run of the game, coming home on a double by Monica Salas in the first inning.
Sam Sanders made it 2-0. She walked, sent to second on a Melissa spink bunt, reached third on a fielder’s choice and scored on a wild pitch.
The Chargers blew the game open in the sixth, scoring five runs. Kai Uyesaka singled in a run and Lexi Catalan belted a three-run triple. Catalan scored on a hit by Madison Buie.
Evans and Ali Milam belted back-to-back homers in the seventh inning.
On the mound, Evans improved to 9-1.
