Carpinteria’s late rally fell short and the Warriors lost to Fillmore, 8-5, in a Tri-Valley League softball game on Thursday.
The Warriors fell behind 8-0 after three innings.
“After playing well in our previous game, it was disappointing to come out with a lack of focus and execution in the first three innings that allowed them to score their eight runs,” Carpinteria coach Henry Gonzalez said. “We battled back in the last two innings to score five runs. we had plenty of scoring opportunities in the early innings but didn’t come up with the necessary base hits.”
Carpinteria (4-17, 1-5) loaded the bases twice and left 12 runners on base.
Scarlett Pettine led the Warriors offense, going 3-for-5 with a double and 4 RBIs. Natalie Saito went 2-4 with a RBI and Teagan Singer went 2-4 with a run scored.
