Skyler Sabado ripped a three-run walk-off triple in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift Santa Barbara High’s baseball team to a 5-4 win over La Cañada in Chatsworth Tournament game.
Sabado’s game-winning hit came after La Cañada scored three runs in the top of the seventh to take a 4-1 lead.
Dalton Schroeder led off the bottom of the seventh by getting hit by a pitch. Tim Stickles drew a walk and Harry Parker singled past shortstop to load the bases. Bryce Morison drew a full-count walk to score Schroeder and make the score 4-2. That brought up Sabado, who hit a line drive between outfielders to clear the bases and win the game.
Senior Daniel Davis (1-0) threw only one pitch for the third out in the top of the 7th to earn his first win.
Santa Barbara improved to 14-6 and will play again next Saturday in the Chatsworth Tournament against the host Chancellors.
