Calabasas deflected a first-inning home run by Santa Barbara High to beat the Dons 4-1 on Saturday in a Chatsworth Tournament game.
Bryce Morison led off the game with a round-tripper for Santa Barbara, but the Dons’ offense couldn’t produce any runs from then on. It wasn’t a matter of reaching base, however, as Santa Barbara saw 14 base runners fail to score. Morison finished with two hits including a double.
Jake Baer launched a two-run homer for Calabasas, which improves to 5-6. Calabasas scored two runs in the bottom half of the first and two more in the second.
Greg Cromar was the winning pitcher while Santa Barbara’s Gabe Grandcolas took his first loss of the season in four decisions.
Santa Barbara, now 9-4 on the season, hosts Buena on Tuesday in a Channel League game.
