Carpinteria scored four runs in the fourth inning and rallied past Mission Prep, 9-6, in a non-league baseball game that was delayed by rain.
Diego Contreras knocked in the eventual winning run with a two-run single in the fourth inning. The Warriors trailed 4-3 entering the fourth.
Freshman Salvador Delgado started on the mound for Carpinteria and was relieved by freshman David Martinez, who picked up the win. Senior Duncan Gordon recorded the final out in the seventh to pick up the save.
Carpinteria evened his record at 4-4; Mission Prep is 2-9.
Lead-off hitter Javier Jasso led the Warrior offense, going 2-for-2 with a walk, hit by pitch, two runs, a RBI and a stolen base. Isaiah Sosa reached base three times on a hit and two walks and he scored twice.
Carpinteria’s next game is Saturday at home against Cabrillo at 1 p.m.
