San Marcos handed Diamond Bar its first defeat, as the Royals captured a three-team golf match with Villa Park and Diamond Bar on the par 71 Babe Zaharias Course at the Industry Hills Golf Club on Monday.
The Royals shot 393, led by rounds of 77 by Niels Andersen and Sam Metzger. Bennet Reichard and Chris Wong each carded 78s and Chad Visser had an 83.
Diamond Bar was second at 409 and Villa Park finished with a 447. Villa Park’s Matt Karchafski was the medalist with a 76.
San Marcos improved to 11-3 on the season. Diamond Bar is 14-1 and Villa Park 11-5.
San Marcos plays Dos Pueblos for first place in the Channel League on Wednesday at Rancho San Marcos.
