San Marcos was edged out by Orange County power Woodbridge by three strokes in a non-league boys golf match at a cold and windy Ranch San Marcos on Friday. The score was 396-399.
“It was great match under very difficult conditions,” San Marcos coach Aaron Solis said. “Woodbridge is one of the top teams in Orange County.”
Sam Metzger of the Royals shot a 73 to earn medalist honors. Niels Anderson fired a 77.
Hide Yoshihara led Woodbridge with a 75.
San Marcos is 7-2 while Woodbridge improved to 8-0-1.
