SBCC scored a run in the ninth on Friday to force extra innings but Oxnard got one in the 10th inning to hand the visiting Vaqueros a 6-5 WSC North baseball loss.
Santa Barbara (21-11, 10-8) erased a 3-0 deficit with four unearned runs in the seventh. The Vaqueros didn’t have a hit in the inning and Oxnard committed three errors.
The Condors regained a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the seventh. The Vaqueros tied it at 5-5 on a two-out RBI double in the ninth by pinch-hitter Dallas Bacon.
Oxnard put together three straight singles to open the bottom of the 10th off Kit Larson. The Vaqueros threw out a runner at home, then Dustyn Cook delivered a walk-off single to score Daniel Barnett.
The Condors (24-7, 13-5) clinched the WSC North title. The Vaqueros are tied for second with Hancock with two games remaining.
Catcher Patrick O’Brien paced the Vaquero offense by going 3-5. Noah Villegas pitched six innings, giving up three runs on five hits with six strikeouts.
SBCC will play two nonconference games next week, traveling to Riverside on Wednesday at 5 p.m. and West L.A. on Thursday at 2:30 p.m.
