SBCC was seeded No. 6 for the Southern Cal Regional baseball playoffs and will host No. 11 San Bernardino Valley in a best-of-3 series.
Game 1 is set for Pershing Park on Friday, May 2 at 2 p.m. Game 2 will start at 11 a.m. Saturday, followed by Game 3 (if necessary) at 3 p.m.
The Vaqueros (23-13) are making their fourth straight playoff appearance. They finished second in the WSC North with an 11-9 mark. WSC champion Oxnard was seeded No. 2 and third-place Hancock got the 13th seed and will travel to Palomar.
Second baseman Brett Sesma (.354) and outfielder Connor McManigal (.330) are the top hitters for the Vaqueros, who are 15-3 at home.
San Bernardino (26-10) finished in a three-way tie for first in the Foothill Conference. The Wolverines won their last four games to make the playoffs.
Outfielder Jason Wilcoxson is SBVC’s leading hitter at .414. AJ David is batting .342 and ranks second in the state with 42 RBIs.
