Carpinteria setter Jesus Ortega made his last home match a memorable one, leading the Warriors to a four-set Tri-Valley League win over Bishop Diego. The scores were 25-17, 25-23, 18-25, 25-20.
Ortega had 27 assists, four kills and three blocks for Carpinteria (8-5, 5-5 in league). Mason Picerni was a force at the net with 12 kills and six blocks. Victor Saldana had eight kills.
Luca Jordano had 11 kills and served up four aces to lead Bishop Diego (9-9, 5-4 in the Tri-Valley League).
Bishop Diego has its senior night Wednesday against Orcutt Academy.
