Three Bishop Diego players recorded double figures in kills, and the Cardinals pushed Oaks Christian to the limit in a Tri-Valley League boys volleyball match on Thursday.
Bishop lost in five sets, 25-16, 8-25, 23-25, 25-21, 15-13.
“Even in defeat, we played our best match of the year,” said Bishop coach Jason Donnelly.
Nick Busch led the Cardinals with 20 kills and six digs. Will Busch had 18 kills and six digs and Chandler Swift added 10 kills and picked up a team-high 12 digs. Grant Sexton contributed eight kills and nine digs. Setter Brolin Parris handed out 59 assists.
“It was a great high school volleyball match, one that could have gone either way,” Donnelly said. “I’m really proud of our effort tonight.”
