Carpinteria gave Oak Park a challenge in a 12-6 Tri-Valley League tennis loss on Thursday.
Ben Murray won two sets in singles and the doubles team of Bryan Taira and Ruben Andrade took two of three sets, including a win over Oak Park’s No. 1 team.
“Overall, we played much better than we played two days ago,” Carpinteria coach Charles Bryant said. “It would just be nice to keep some momentum going into the final few weeks of matches.
“The boys have worked hard all season and they still have an outside shot at the playoffs,” Bryant added.
Carpinteria is 7-10 overall and 2-4 in the TVL.
