A fast start by Cate sparked the Rams to a 15-3 boys tennis win over CIF No. 2-ranked Laguna Blanca on Wednesday at the Owls’ courts.
The Rams swept the first six sets to get the early jump on the Owls.
The doubles teams set the tone for Cate, winning eight of nine matches. The No. 1 team of Michael Revord and Jack Hoover lost only three games, while Brendan Lokre with Christian Herman at No. 2 picked up three points while dropping only two games. The No. 3 team of
juniors Edward Cho and Trey Jackson earned two great wins on the afternoon.
In singles, Jason Xiao swept his three matches for Cate (3-4, 1-0 in Condor League).
