Carpinteria raised the level of its game, but it wasn’t enough against CIF-ranked Oaks Christian in a Tri-Valley League boys tennis match. The Warriors fell 13-5.
“We lost big but we played really well overall and were very competitive in the majority of the sets,” said Carpinteria coach Charles Bryant. “We were much more focused and determined to put out a better effort today and the boys did just that.”
Oaks Christian is ranked No. 3 in CIF Division 3.
The doubles team of Ruben Andrade/Bryan Taira won two of their three sets, with their only loss being a 6-4 setback. Collin Nathanson/Sean Welty picked up our last point with a come from behind tiebreak win.
Carpinteria is now 6-7 overall and 1-3 in the Tri Valley League.
