Two-time defending state shot put champion Stamatia Scarvelis of Dos Pueblos competed in her final Santa Barbara Easter Relays and finished with victories and meet records in the shot put and discus on Saturday at La Playa Stadium.
The UCLA-bound Scarvelis went over 50 feet for the third time this season in the shot put, going 51-4.5. She also captured the discus with a throw of 154-7. She was the only local double winner in the meet.
Nevada-Liberty’s Morganne Hill won two events, taking the girls 100 meters (12.97) and 100 hurdles.
Addi Zerrenner of DP, running in her final Easter Relays, took the 3200 in 10:07.17.
Niema Poindexter of the Chargers earned a pair of runner-up finishes in the triple jump (34-09.5) and long jump (16-5.25).
Adilene Aldapa of San Marcos took second in the 1500, finishing behind Arroyo Grande freshman Talley Hill (4:43.27). Aldapa ran 4:45.78.
From Santa Barbara High, Kelli Martindale won the triple jump at 34-11 and Natasha Feshbach took second in the 100 in 12.99 and 100 meters.
On the boys side, San Marcos won the 4×100 relay in 44.31 and took the 4×200 relay in 1:32.37. DP thrower Jon Dickinson was second in the shot put at 50-9.5. He also took second in the discus at 144-8.
