Niema Poindexter had a big day for the Dos Pueblos girls track team, winning four events to help the Chargers beat Buena 91-36 in a Channel League dual meet on Thursday.
Poindexter took the 100, 200, long jump and triple jump.
Stamatia Scarvelis went over 50 feet in the shot put for the sixth time while competing for DP, going 50-6. She threw 150-0 to win the discus.
The DP boys beat Buena 83-39.
Jon Dickinson won shot with a throw of 52-5 and captured the discus with a throw of 133-26.5. Joey Ochoa placed second in both events to score points for the team.
Tyler Welch led a DP sweep in the 100 in a time of 11.43. He also won the 200 in 23.6. In the 400, Jacob Stucky and Sam Seibel went 1-2.
The Wasjutin twin brothers, Chris and Ian, took one-two in convincing fashion in the 3200. Tyler Bradford and John Greening went 1-2 in the 1600.
The Chargers swept the girls 1600 race. Addi Zerrenner won in a time of 5:20.42, Tatianna Schluep took second in 5:20.67, and freshman Natalie McClure took third in 5:21.64. The girls also swept the 110 hurdles and the 300 hurdles. Megan Gee won both races. Schluep won the 800 in 2:23.30.
In the girls 3200, Elaine McClure continued her winning ways by taking first in a time of 11:55.51.
Several DP athletes will be competing at the Easter Relays on Saturday at SBCC.
