The Rincon Races were held at Carpinteria High School’s Memorial Stadium on Saturday, with Peter Ramos winning the discus and Nicole Pepper winning the 100-meter hurdles for the host Warriors.
Joining Carpinteria at the meet were Santa Ynez, Fillmore, Nordhoff, Providence and Morro Bay.
Other highlights included Santa Ynez’s Casey Everett winning the boys 100 and 200. Carpinteria’s Joel Montes and Tim Jimenez placed second and third in the 100.
The Pirates also got a double win from Carlos Zepeda, who captured the 100 and 300 hurdles, and Dakota Wooden, adding two jumping victories for the Pirates.
Ariel Johnston was a three-event winner for the Santa Ynez girls team, placing first in the long jump, triple jump and pole vault.
