Brandie Harris is a big scorer on the soccer field and in the classroom.
The sophomore forward was honored Monday at the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table press luncheon as SBCC’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Harris, a graduate of Dos Pueblos High, was the leading goal scoring in both of her seasons at SBCC. This past season she set the single-season school record for goals with 30 and tied the school mark for points in a season with 64. She scored 44 goals in her SBCC career.
Harris was named the Western State Conference North’s Player of the Year.
Her academic record also is impressive. She carries a 3.77 GPA after completing 49 units. She is on the SBCC President’s Honor Roll.
Harris accepted a scholarship offer from Cal State San Bernardino. Her future academic plans include pursuing a master’s degree in nursing.
