Delaney Smith struck out eight in a complete-game victory for Santa Barbara High on Friday, a 7-6 decision at Santa Maria.
It was the third straight victory for the Dons (3-3), who play again on Saturday in a double-header at the Santa Ynez Tournament against Cabrillo and Carpinteria.
Santa Barbara took a 7-1 lead over Santa Maria in the first two innings, starting with sophmore catcher Olivia Harris, who delivered the big two-run double in a four-run first inning. In the second inning, senior center fielder Grace Apostolopolous added a two run single.
