Carpinteria’s Natalie Saito allowed one hit and came out on the short end of a 1-0 decision against Lompoc in a non-league softball game on Friday.
Lompoc scored the game’s only run on a single, stolen base, passed ball and a fielder’s choice.
Sierra Diaz singled for Carpinteria’s lone hit.
“We played very good defense and Natalie Saito was excellent on the mound,” Carpinteria coach Henry Gonzalez said. “We are getting better. We are pleased with our effort.”
