Carpinteria’s Paulina Barbosa singled in Natalie Saito in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift Carpinteria to a 7-6 softball win over Channel Islands on Wednesday.
Saito tripled in the ninth before Barbosa’s walk-off hit. Saito had two triples in the game and scored two runs.
Kimmy Methmann started for the Warriors and pitched 4.2 innings. Saito relieved her in the fifth.
Carpinteria is 3-9 overall.
“We came out with a better focus and approach to playing the game,” said Carpinteria coach Henry Gonzalez
